Alva Blane Crago
AVON LAKE, OH Alva B. Crago Age 83, of Avon Lake died Thursday March 30, 2006 at St. John West Shore Hospital, Westlake. He was born June 28, 1922 in Confidence, West Virginia and moved to Avon Lake forty-five years ago from Red House, West Virginia. Alva served in the U.S. Army in the south pacific during World War II. He was employed as a pipe-straightener in 3 Seamless at the U.S. Steel plant in Lorain for 33 years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of United Steel Workers of America, Local 1104, Lorain. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Crago is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annabell (nee Stewart); four sons, Ricky Crago (Debbie) of Des Plains, Illinois; Randy Crago (Cindy) of Avon Lake; Robbie Crago (Kathy) of Kent, Ohio; and Greg Crago (fiancé Carrie Hyatt) of North Olmsted, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and one great grand-daughter; and a fraternal twin sister, Alma Wygal of Hurricane, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie (nee Stover) Crago; a sister, Edith Wandling (Eleanor, WV) and a brother, Leonard Crago (California).
Friends may call at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 163 Avon-Belden Rd.Avon Lake from 1-3 & 6-8pm Sunday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 3 at 11:00am. Mr. Vincent Urbin will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon where V.F.W. Post 9871, North Ridgeville will conduct military honors.
