The following is from the research of the late William Ernest Craigo Jr. and is written in the second person concerning himself.

William E. Craigo, Jr. born April 3, 1921 at Carbondale, W.Va.

However spent most of his adult life in KanawhaCounty.

He went to work for Kanawha Hocking Coal & Coke Company at Longacre, W.Va., when he was

16 years of age. He loaded coal with his dad. For a while he worked at night and attended

Gauley Bridge High School during the day.

In 1939 when Longacre Mine worked out he went to work for the Cannelton Coal Compnay.

He worked for the DuPont Company at Belle, W.Va. for three years.

He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp at Camp Crowder, MO.

Worked for the Hercules Powder Company for 21 years, selling and servicing explosives.

He resigned from Hercules in 1971 and went to Florida and worked for one year.

Returned to W.Va. and worked for Hobet Mining and Construction Company for ten years.

Hobet was owned by Ashland Oil Company.

He married Emmogene O’Dell in 1941.
